SALVATION
Before some years, there lived a man, Abdul. He was around 50
years of age. He was living in a slum area in a small hut with his wife and 18
years old son, Riyaaz. Abdul was a religious man. Most of the time, He was
upset because of his poor economy. Seldom he used to talk to people. People even
treated him like a mad man. Some days later, he met some people who were
involved in terrorist activity. They convinced him that, they are doing this for
religion, and if he dies in this work, he will go to heaven. Abdul was even
convinced.
Finally it was time for the terrorists
to make their plan execute. They planned for a serial blast. The first blast
was planned to execute in a crowded area of the city and the second one in the
nearby city hospital with some hours of gap. According to the plan, Abdul was
assigned to execute the second blast.
Time 6.30 PM. The first bomb blasted. Many
people died on the spot and many got severely injured. The whole city was
shocked. News spread all over the country. All the patients were taken to the city
hospital, where death was waiting for them. Time 8.30 PM. The hospital was
heavily crowded with patients and their relatives. Abdul came out of the
hospital, completing his work successfully. He left the place. After 5 minutes
a big blast deserted the hospital. This time much more people died. The people
who came there to give hope and life to the injured ones, ended with no life in
themselves. In fractions of second the hospital became a graveyard, making a
scene of jalianawalabag of 1919. Abdul was happy. He returned home.
He saw, his wife was crying. Some of his
neighbor people were also there. They were consoling her. Abdul could not
understand anything. Now his heart was beating heavily.
“what
happened ?”
After a
few seconds of delay his wife replied in weeping voice: Riyaaz is no more. He left
us forever.
“What
!!!!”
“ He
had been to city hospital to donate blood to the bomb blast victims and……(crying
out loudly)” . she could not speak any
more.
Abdul
sat down on the floor. He was speechless. He could not believed, what he had
heard just now is true. Two drops of tear came out of his eye.
Abdul’s
wife again cried: “How much pain my son would have suffered in his last time? Why
can’t god took my life, before he took my son’s ?”
3 days
later….
It’s
been 3 days since that deadly night in the city. The whole city was dipped in
the trauma. Here Abdul was also suffering from the same. He was foodless, sleepless
and speechless, kept himself confined in a corner of his house. On that
morning, he woke up , came out of his house. He went to the police station and
surrendered. The news spread all over with the speed of electricity. He was put
into a fast-track court, which was made for judicial action for the bomb blast
case. He was declared as criminal and penalized to hang till death.
Abdul was kept in a secret place. Before
the date of his execution, the officers asked him his last wish.
Abdul :
before I die, I want to donate complete 6 liters of blood flowing in my veins. I
want to donate my eye, kidney and heart also.
The officers
reported to the government. The government came to a decision to fulfill his
last wish. After some legal approval, the government gave green signal.
It was the date of execution of Abdul. In
the fine morning, he was taken to the city hospital. According to his last
wish, he donated his blood. His face was glowing and he was smiling. After some
time, his body turned white, he closed his eyes. The doctors operated on him
and took his eyes, kidneys and heart. Before death only, he made all arrangements
to go to heaven after his death. With this great work, Abdul was more alive
than dead.
After 3 days, 17 different persons came
out of the city hospital being cured and Abdul’s blood flowing in their veins.
A 8 year old kid from a poor family, who was blind by birth got a new vision to
life. Now Abdul was watching his old world with the kid’s eye, but this time with
a new vision which is called “innocence”. He could see enough love, enough joy
and enough enthusiasm in humanity. Probably this is the definition of Heaven on
earth.
