India after attaining sexual freedom(2018)

India attained her freedom in 1947, but sexual freedom came lately in 2018 with significant Supreme Court judgements. It has settled some questions forever & created some questions to be answered in future. This article deals with two such aspects.
1. Polygamy vs. marriage
Post independence polygamy was abolished. Seventy year later we have approved it implicitly through subsequent Supreme Court judgements. IPC section 377 (Homosexuality) , IPC section 497( Adultery) has been decriminalized; live-in relation is acceptable now. These are progressive steps indeed. Now a person can have sex with any number of persons, any gender, before marriage, after marriage & outside marriage; but if he decides to put "ek chutki sindoor" on more than one womenthen it becomes an offense.
What implies here is that, the idea & institution of marriage is reduced to a ritual "ek chutki sindoor" & ofcourse pre-wedding photoshoot.
In coming times the institution of marriage ll gradually perish. Sex ll turn into a commodity like any other object in our materialistic world. There ll be two new classes of 'haves' & 'have nots'. Like the rich-poor divide, this gap ll also be startling.

2. Redesigning our society
Our society & all institutions are designed with two convictions.
(i)  Entire population is heterosexual.
(ii) Persons of the same gender are safe together.
We see the reflection of this everywhere.
E.g : Ladies hostel, Gent's hostel, women's college, girl's high school, ladies toilet & gent's toilet. Even VISAKHA guidelines which sets the HR policy of organizations is one dimensional. It works with a preconceived notion that, "Man" is opressor & "women" is opressed. Which is not right always. A women can also be harassed by a women. A man can also be harassed by man or woman.

So our society & social institutions need reorganization. It must encompass the concerns of all gender( male, female & transgender), sexuality & changing ethics of the time.

  1. What do you mean by "ek chut ki sindur, hope it's marriage, sacred bondage. I think our culture, even our inner soul never give permission for it. What is your opinion in this regard.
